Metal Bronze, a semi-precious material and an alloy of copper and either zinc or tin, is the strongest and longest lasting of any casket construction material. It is highly resistant to corrosive elements.
Stainless steel is an alloy derived from chromium, nickel and carbon steel. Stainless steel is 8.3 times longer lasting than 16 gauge carbon steel.

| Burial Vaults or Grave Liners
Every Clark burial vault is guaranteed to protect the casket from water and other elements through the use of an air seal principle. This can be easily demonstrated by turning a glass upside down and then submerging the glass into water. The air trapped inside the glass prevents the water from rising more than a fraction of an inch. The same is true of a non-porous Clark metal vault. The air trapped inside the dome prevents outside water from reaching the casket.
A grave liner is a sealed outer burial receptacle. This type of outer burial container is used in ground burials. It is placed in the ground first, then the casket is lowered into it, a sealing substance is then put in place around the cover's edges and finally, the cover is placed in position on top, sealing the casketed remains in place.
Both types of burial containers support the weight of the ground along side of it and above it, protecting the casket from the pressure of the heavy weight of the earth and cemetery maintenance equipment. This heavy equipment can put great pressure and weight on graves, causing maintenance problems and endangering the appearance of the grave and the cemetery itself. Some cemeteries make it mandatory to provide some type of outer burial container. With this in mind, selecting a quality outer burial container is not only practical but essential.
