Adele Stentz Laing, 95 years old of Jefferson passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond.She was born on Saturday, August 27, 1921, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Leopold and Katherine Stentz. Adele enjoyed life and loved reading, doing word puzzles and watching football. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Adele is survived by her daughter, Barbara Sandridge, her son, David Laing, Jr. and her daughter, Denise O'Rourke and her husband Lindsey, her grandchildren, Layne Sandridge, Keith Laing and his wife Nikki, Lindsay Domiano and her husband Sam, Kary Laing and his wife Alison, Aron Laing and his wife Crystal, Jena O'Rourke and Devin O'Rourke, her great grandchildren, Bryceson Laing, Karson Rivers, Cameron Laing, Tyler Domiano, Kaylee Rivers, Caden Laing, Justin Domiano and Sadie Laing, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Adele is preceded in death by her parents, Leopold and Katherine Stentz, her brother, Lee Stentz, her sisters, Ruth Smith, Elinor Shaw and Edith Jablonowski, her son in law, Roger Sandridge and her daughter in law, Marilyn Laing.
A Visitation for Adele will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating Adele's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in the Garden Of Memories Cemetery in Metairie.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes all memorial donations be made to the Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, 16013 Halbert Dr, Hammond, LA 70403 in Adele's memory.
