Andrew Joseph Dagro, of Independence, Louisiana, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 5, 2018. He was just eight days away from turning 91. Andrew was born on October 13, 1927, in the exact room that he passed away, one of three children of the late Noby Dagro and the late Ida LaMarca Dagro. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and also a familiar face in the community as a photographer for over 35 years, capturing the memories of countless weddings and other special occasions.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Loretta Montalbano Hardy Dagro; four children, Joey Dagro (Robin), Christine Dagro Haney, Kathy Dagro Fluesmeier (Bruce), and Steve Dagro (Laurie); 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Silvestri (Joseph) and Dolly Smith (Alfred); as well as, 5 nieces and 5 nephews.

In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary Lea Brown Dagro; and  son-in-law, Allen Haney.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd - Hammond.

Visitation will continue at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 N. Oak St, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass begins at 11:00 am.

Entombment will follow at Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum in Independence, Louisiana.
