Ann Matherne passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 87. She was born on Sunday, May 4, 1930 in Springfield, Louisiana to the late Lillie Wall Vicknair and the late Joseph O. Vicknair. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Ann also was a dedicated worker at Middendorf's Restaurant for 35 years.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Bigner, Darlene Broussard and her husband Cecil; son, Rodney J. Matherne, Sr. and his wife Vicki; sister, Gloria "Deannie" Ridgell and her husband Alonzo; brother, Woodrow W. Vicknair; sister-in-law, Joyce Duvic; grandchildren, Rodney J. Matherne, Jr. and his wife Amanda, Sophia Schumacher and her husband Hayden, Waylon Matherne and his wife Marlana, Benjamin Bertucci and his wife Kasey; Stephanie Martin and her husband Anthony, Amanda Morales and her husband Dominick, and Samuel Troxclair; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph O. Vicknair; mother, Lillie Wall Vicknair; son, Kelly "Joey" Joseph Matherne, III; husband, Kelly Joseph Matherne, Jr.; four brothers, Wallace E. Vicknair, Wesley J. Vicknair, Willard M. Vicknair, and Wallie R. Vicknair; grandson, Vincent Bertucci; and granddaughter, Ashley Laduer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Saturday, June 3, 2017 beginning at 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm.
Interment will follow in Wetmore Cemetery.
