Barbara Ann Ernest passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 69. She was born to to the late Zilda Marie Duplessis and the late Oscar Alex Ernest. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. She was retired from the Tangipahoa Parish School System.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Thasia Domiano and her husband Jay; Ellis Ernest, brother; sister, Glenda Dufreche and her husband Billy; and sister-in-law, Elna Bowman. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Alex Ernest; mother, Zilda Marie Duplessis; and brother, "Ottie" Ernest, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 16, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
