Barbara Sue Spano, 81 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond.She was born on Thursday, January 28, 1937, in Shaw, Mississippi to Parley and Jessie Welch Beasley. Barbara enjoyed life and loved traveling, cooking, reading, family gatherings and her church functions. But mostly she loved spending time with her family. Barbara was a member of the Rosary Alter Society at Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Dominick Spano, Sr., her children, Dominick Spano , Jr., Elizabeth Spano Gabriel and her husband Robert and David Spano and his wife Tammy, her grandchildren, Nickolas Spano and his wife Barbara, Eric Ridgel, Destinee Wingrove, Caitlin Spano, Cameron Spano, her great-grandchildren, Dean Wingrove, Dominick Spano, her sisters Frances Alberes and her husband Lester and Dorothy Rothwell and her husband Fred, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Parley and Jessie Welch Beasley.
A Visitation for Barbara will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond.A Funeral Mass Celebrating Barbara's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00am in the church. Interment will follow in the Holly Gardens Cemetery in Hammond.
