Benny Joseph Moschitta  passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 86.  He was born on Saturday, December 10, 1932 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Joseph and Rose Chula Moschitta.  He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Benny proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, where he married the love of his life. After his discharge from the Army, they returned to Hammond, where they raised their family, and ran the Hammond French Market from 1958 to 1997, when he gave it to his daughters.

Benny is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie Marchese Moschitta; daughters, Rosemarie Moschitta Graziano (Wayne) and Paula Gayle Moschitta Watkins (George); grandchildren, Melanie G. Johnson (Brett), Valerie S. Barron, Brandon Graziano (Amanda), and Victoria S. Murley (Travis); great-grandchildren, Madison Barron, Isabella Acunzo, Kaden Barron, Olivia Graziano, Sophia Graziano, Brielle Johnson, Adriana Graziano, and Makayla Johnson; and sisters, Francis M. Siragusa and Rose Ann Haritos.

In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony Mochetta and Joe Moschitta, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Benny on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, beginning at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue the following day, Friday, November 8, 2019, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 N Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
