Beverly Ann Poursine Pinion, 94 years old of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away, Sunday, April 5, 2020 after a brief battle with the CoVid-19 virus.

She was born November 5, 1925 in New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter of the late Pierre “Pete” Poursine and the late Mary Annie Sasser Poursine.

Beverly developed strength and determination at a young age when she was diagnosed with polio and fought to take her first steps at the age of four. She loved participating as a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church choir. She was known for her love of animals and for welcoming everyone in her neighborhood to join her in song. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all.

Surviving are her sons, Stephen Jenkins and partner Gwen, Philip Jenkins and wife Bonnie, and her daughter, Stephanie Pinion Bonura: stepsons Ronnie Pinion, Sr. and wife Karen, Randy Pinion and wife Sheryl; granddaughter Aimee Jenkins Freeman and husband Brian, grandson Philip “Bo” Jenkins, Jr. and wife Kelli, and grandson Kyle Kugler; great-grandchildren Benjamin Freeman, Joshua Freeman, Dixie Jenkins, and Duke Jenkins.

She is preceded in death by husband Rogers Joseph Pinion, sisters Mildred Poursine Wooten and Marion Poursine Torrens, stepson Roger “Bub” Pinion, and son-in-law Ben Bonura.

Services for Beverly will be private.

Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Hammond, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to local animal shelters in Beverly’s honor.
