Billy "Bad" Ray Richards, age 63 of Ponchatoula, formally of Waggaman, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at his daughters home with his family by his side. He was born on Wednesday, March 7, 1956, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to William "Cleo" and Mary Donaldson Richards. Billy enjoyed life and loved working on cars, fishing, playing pool, water sports and traveling but he especially loved spending time with his grandkids and family.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Angila "Angie" Hadley Richards, his daughter, Brittney Thompson and her husband Phillip, his son, Billy Richards II and Jody, his grandchildren, Brenden, Phillip, Jr., Landen, Kyren, Xavier, Leland and Jayden, his step mother, Dorathy "Dot" Richards, his sisters, Frances Veronessi and Kathy Bordelon and her husband Bubby, his brothers, Danny Gantt and his wife Martha and Joe Gantt and his wife Elaine, his sister in law, Greta Richards, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Cleo" and Mary Donaldson Richards, his brothers, Bobby Richards and David Richards and his sister, Shirley Miller.
A Visitation for Billy will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Memorial Service Celebrating Billy's Life will immediately follow visitation at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
