Bonnie Faye McDaniel Martinez, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at Landmark of Hammond on Monday, January 18, 2021, at the age of 77. She was born on January 4, 1944, in Cleveland, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Edward Sevear McDaniel and Odean Trainor McDaniel. Bonnie was a loving mother, grammy, and sister. She was very talented at crocheting afghan blankets and spent many years making and sharing them with family. In recent years, Bonnie lived at Landmark of Hammond where she thrived in their community of residents. She loved drinking coffee and taking part in the weekly activities like bingo, music, and dancing. Bonnie always kept a spirit of joy and happiness everywhere she went, and she loved the Lord with all of her heart. She leaves her family and her friends at Landmark with countless precious memories.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Jhann Martinez Ratliff (Russell); grandchildren, Jessie Ratliff, Brendon Ratliff, Candace Weber, and DeeShae Wade (James); great grandchildren, Marissa Rose, Evelynn James and Charlee Renee; siblings, Eddie Lott, Janie McGuffee (David), Patsy David (Dallas), and John McDaniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Annatosha Renee Williams and sister, Darlene Wilson.

Her daughter would like to thank Landmark of Hammond for the amazing care provided and compassion shared with her mama. As a direct result, Bonnie’s remaining years were filled with the highest quality of life, love, and friendship.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, with Pastor David McGuffee officiating.

Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
