Chasity Lynn Newman passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 43. She was born on Tuesday, June 25, 1974 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Lavina Gill and Michael Lewis. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
Chasity is survived by her husband, Dan Winston Newman , Sr.; father, Michael Lewis; children, Sebron Pierre, Jokota Guzzardo, Lorenzo Monrroy, Sabrina Mulkey and her husband Leo, Chaslyn Parnell and her husband Terrance, and Whitney Newman; sisters, Alecia Codray and her husband Troy, and Johanna Monrroy and her husband Genaro; grandchildren, Alexis, Kaisyn, Audrey, Emmrey, Chloe, and Terrialyn; and grandmother, Lawuna Dunkin.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lavina Gill.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in Sandhill Cemetery.
