After a long and wonderful life, Clara Catherine Musante Laiche born June 2, 1927 left this world to be with the Lord on June 24, 2018.  There she will be reunited with so many of her loved ones which include her brothers, parents, Aunt Clara Thorton and most importantly her beloved husband, Felix.

With her elegant true southern style, she came to Louisiana from Alabama to finish high school at Holy Name in New Orleans.  She went on to Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond where she majored in Home Economics and was very active in her sorority, Kappa Rho where she served as an officer.  Upon graduation, she began working at the Florida Parishes Extension Service in Franklinton, LA before marrying Felix Laiche.  In her “spare time” she went back to college to receive her Masters’ degree in Home Economics at Texas Woman’s University.  Kitty, or “Miss Kitty” as so many called her, left this world a better place by raising seven children: Stephen, Rachel, Tommy, Jimmy, Cathy, Jeannie and Michael.  Those children brought 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren into that cherished circle.

She and Felix opted to retire in Hammond after living in Denton TX and Chicago IL.  Her passion for helping others was implemented at Habitat for Humanity, where she gave many volunteer hours to that special cause.

Our mother wants to especially thank the community of Holy Ghost for being such a good family to her. And a special thank you to Kim Williams whose love and caring made a lasting impression that will be embraced in our hearts forever.
