Donald Beason Boyd went to be with his Savior on Thursday, January 4, 2018. A native of Choudrant, Louisiana, and resident of Loranger, Louisiana, age 92 years.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Nina R. Boyd; his loving children; Jerry Boyd and his husband Don, Mike Boyd and his wife Linda and Tony Boyd and his wife Kim; his devoted grandchildren, Toni, Rebekah, Sarah, Coty, Nicole and Caleb; his loving great grandchildren, William, Lucas and Nate. Don is also survived by his loving sister, EmmaLee Hammet.
Don proudly served his country in WWII in the United States Navy. After retiring as a Shop Foreman for Highlines Construction Co. at the age of 69, he went back to work for Red Simpson as an Equipment Operator for the next ten years. He was a 32 degree Mason and Shriner with the Mounted Unit in New Orleans.
Don was devoted to the congregation at Creekside Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. Don was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Creekside Baptist Church, 49031 Highway 445, Loranger, Louisiana 70446 at 11:00 AM with Visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie, Louisiana at 1:00 PM.
