Doris Marie Flanagan  passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017, at the age of 76.  She was born on Friday, April 11, 1941 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Katherine Monistre and the late Herman Bignar.  She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana. She was the owner of B & F Sanitation, President of Tangipahoa Federation of Teachers, President of the American Legion Auxiliary, State Democratic Committee President, and was retired from the Tangipahoa Parish School System.

Doris  is survived by her son, Jamie Flanagan; brother, Herman Bignar Jr. and his wife Pam; grandchildren, Ryan and Camryn Flanagan; and daughter-in-law, Jodi Martrain, mother of Ryan and Camryn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emile Flanagan, Jr.; parents Herman and Katherine Bignar; sisters, Emily Bankston and Bell Owens; and infant children Susan and John Flanagan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 9:00 am until the service at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Mausoleum.
