Sis. Dorothy Anderson Reid was born November 30, 1929 to the late Alfred and Evelyn Anderson in New York. She passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
She left New York and moved to Louisiana where she married James Reid, to this union one child was born, Cecile Reid.
She worked at Southeastern Louisiana University as a secretary for over 47 years. She loved her work, and her animals, like her horses, dogs and cats.
She leaves to cherish and honor her memories; three daughters, Cecile Reid, Cathy, and Donna; and three sons, James, George and Mark. A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. One sister, Dolirata Anderson, New Jersey. Also, two nieces and nephews.
Sis. Dorothy Reid was preceded in death by her husband, James Reid; parents, Evelyn and Alfred Anderson; grandson, Cardarryl Reid; and a granddaughter, Ashley Reid.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, LA, from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Martin Cemetery.
