Emogene Ryan Picou Kuhn  passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 82.  She was born on Monday, June 25, 1934 in Clio, Louisiana to the late Mary  Henry Ryan and John Ryan.  She was a dual resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana and of Hillsboro, Kansas.

Emogene is survived by her husband, R. Laney Kuhn; two sisters, Evelyn Stafford and Bernedette Meadows.  Her special companions, Pookie Louise, Charles Elmer, and Penelope Suzanne Kuhn.  Also survived by 14 nieces, 8 nephews, 24 great nieces, 26 great nephews, 26 great great nieces, 19 great great nephews, and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Picou; parents, John and Mary Ryan; four sisters, Hazel Wylde Lavigne, Lucile Berthelot Anderson, Ruthia Ryan, and Lorraine Ryan; and three brothers, Virgil Ryan, Stanley Ryan, and Joseph "Eddie" Edward Ryan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Ceremony at Huff Chapel United Methodist Church, 30000 Huff Chapel Road, Springfield, Louisiana, on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Greg Lindenberger and assisted by Rev. Milton Bourque.  

Visitation will be held in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Sunday, April 23, 2017, from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm and  on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Huff Chapel United Methodist Church from 9:00 am until service time.

Interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
