Erlene Marie Eady Thompson, 76 years old of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. She was born on Thursday, December 18, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana to George W. “GW” and Rose Genevieve Serio Eady. Erlene enjoyed life and loved to read, crafts and making jewelry, but she especially loved spending time with her family.
Erlene is survived by her loving husband, John Henry Thompson, Sr., her daughters, Paula Ann Effler, and Doni Iriece Thompson Miller, her son, Michael Joseph Thompson, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, her sister, LeAnn Whitener and stepbrother, Gary Ronald McLin, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Erlene is preceded in death by her parents, George W. “GW” and Rose Genevieve Serio Eady, her daughter, Kathy Lynn Thompson, her son, John H. Thompson, Jr., her brother, George Ashford Eady and her stepbrother, Rene McLin, Jr.
A Visitation for Erlene will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. A Funeral Service Celebrating Erlene’s Life will immediately follow visitation at 12:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
