Eugene Sharp passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 surrounded by his family, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 83. He was born on Friday, October 13, 1933 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Stella Kemp Sharp and the late Ed Sharp. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
Eugene is survived by his daughters, Marie Sharp Blow and her husband Bobby, Lynn Sharp, and Connie L. Sharp; sons, Gene Sharp and his wife Kayla, and Dennis Sharp and his wife Rachel; sister, Eula Hutchinson; ex-wife, Bernice Lavigne Sharp; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Sharp; mother, Stella Kemp Sharp; son, David Sharp; daughter, Bonnie Sharp; two brothers, Bud Sharp, and Tom Sharp; three sisters, Naomi "BB" Burton, Stella "Did" Sutherland, and "Sister" Burke.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Ceremony in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Ponchatoula , 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
