Gerald Foster Bethel, 66 years old of Independence, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 10, 2018. He was born on Thursday, January 17, 1952 in Hammond, Louisiana, to Glynn and Yvonne Stewart Bethel. Gerald loved driving trucks and did it all his life.
Gerald is survived by his daughter Dr. Sunshine Willett and her husband Joshua, and their children, Hayden, Harrison and Harper Willett; his son, Logan Bethel and his wife Desha, and their children, Skylar, Talan and Emmy-Kate Bethel; his sister Susan Zaffuto and her husband Terry; his fiancé, Pamela Freed, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Glynn and Yvonne Stewart Bethel, his sister, Charlotte Bethel Wheeler and the mother of his children, Irene Rodriguez Bethel.
A Visitation for Gerald will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating Gerald’s Life will immediately follow visitation at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Lanier Cemetery in Loranger.
