Hortence "Hank" Mena Patterson passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 surrounded by her family in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 72.  She was born on Sunday, December 24, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Esperanza Garay Mena and the late Fidel Mena.  She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Hortence is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Tommy Patterson; daughter, Jessica  Heddings and her husband Joshua; grandchild, Caleb Heddings; sister-in-law, Isabel Mena; nieces and nephews, Monica Saucedo, Fred Mena, Vickie Morgan Richards, Tracey Sadaway, and Todd Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fidel Mena; mother, Esperanza Garay Mena; and brother, Fred Mena.

Hank graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and Georgetown University Law School in Washington D.C. Hank practiced law in New Orleans for 35 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a deep abiding faith in Christ and was an encourager to those who knew her. She loved the Lord with all her heart and truly put her trust in Him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, Mississippi.
