James David ( Pops) Westmoreland Sr., 84 years old of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018, at C.H.I. hospital in Hot Springs Arkansas. Pops was born on Monday, January 8, 1934, in New Orleans. Surviving are wife, Connie Knippers Westmoreland; son & daughter-in-law, Scott and Misty Westmoreland, son, J.D. Westmoreland, his niece who was like his daughter, Karen Gregory, stepson, Troy Mannino (Jacob Duhon), step-daughter, Jamee Bennett, granddaughter and husband, Hali Westmorland Fletcher and Taylor Fletcher, grandchild, Jessie Secrest, grandson and wife, Doug and Amanda Secrest, grandchild, Emmilee Rayborn, grandson and wife, Lance and Stephanie Westmoreland; step-grandchildren, Reyona Bennett and Zackary Mannino; great-grandchildren, Tayton, Makaylee, Colby, Layla and Noah. He is preceded in death by parents, Norman Westmoreland and Francine Chavers Westmoreland, first wife, Josephine Westmoreland; daughter, Shannon Westmoreland; brother Red Westmoreland. Friends will be received Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, at 11:00 am, with Bro. Leon Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in Colonial Cemetery Independence, Louisiana.
