James Robert "Bob" Jenkins, 83 years old of Westwego, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, in Jefferson, Louisiana. He was born on Monday, November 13, 1933, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to Robert and Annie Shelton Jenkins. Bob married the love of his life the Rev. Nita Gallender on June 15, 1957 and have resided in Westwego since 1960. Bob served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired as an electrician from the IBEW # 130 and # 733 and the Louisiana Department of Development and Transportation. Bob loved his dog Caesar, fishing and hunting.  

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 59 1/2 years, Rev. Nita Gallender Jenkins, his son, Leslie Jenkins and his wife Shelly, his daughter, Nancy Drummond and her husband Todd, his grandchildren, Nickolas, Jared and Andrew Jenkins, Donald James and Robert Charles "Reece" Drummond, Chelsea and Kirstie Dillon, his sisters, Linda Prine, Evon Schliegelmeyer and Peggy Poche Stromeyer, his brother, Thomas Jenkins, also many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

Bob is preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Sue Jenkins, his parents, Robert and Annie Shelton Jenkins, her sisters, Sara Wall and Annie Mae Vicknair and his brother, Jesse Jenkins. 

A Visitation for Bob will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 9:00am - 11:00am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. A Funeral Service Celebrating Bob's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. David Cranford will officiate. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
