Jane Martens Jones Townsend, 77 years old of Hammond,Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
She was born on June 5, 1941, in Covington, Louisiana. She is the daughter of the late William Leslie Martens, Sr. and the late Jessie Wall Martens. Jane was a delightful person who loved entertaining for family, friends, and even the occasional celebrity.
Jane is survived by her brother, Luther Paul Martens and his wife Diane; sister, Margaret Ann Martens-Baker and her husband Jimmy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her first husband, Spencer Jones; second husband, Larry Townsend; and brothers,William Leslie Martens, Jr. and Gordon Martens, Sr.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely& Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. Hammond, Louisiana, Friday,November 16, 2018 from 9:00 am until the funeral service begins at 11:00 am,with Rev. Aaron Gordon officiating.
Family has requested, in lieu of flowers, a memorial be made in Jane M. Jones name to First Presbyterian Church of Ponchatoula, 197 S.4th St. Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
