Janice Umbach DeLattre entered His heavenly kingdom on July 8, 2018. Janice was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence DeLattre for 44 years. She was the daughter of the late Vernon Umbach and Eunice Massey Umbach. She is preceded in death by her brother Ronald Umbach (Shirley) and is survived by her sister Judy Delaney. She was the loving mother of Darren James (Kellie) and David Lawrence DeLattre (Tiffany) and stepmother of Frank DeLattre (Katrina) and Lydia DeLattre Medina. Proud and loving grandmother of Ashley DeLattre, Alyssa DeLattre, Brennan Meetze, Anthony Medina (Mary), Alexander Graves, Desireé DeLattre, Paige Farnsworth, and Chase DeLattre and also great grandmother to Noelle Graves. Loving aunt of Zachary Delaney, as well as countless friends who will fondly remember their time spent with her.

Janice was born and raised in New Orleans. She lived with her husband Larry in Algiers, and they moved to Ponchatoula in 1997, where she lived out her remaining years. In the early years of her marriage, her time was spent at home taking care of her family. She then discovered her lifelong passion of working and volunteering in many churches and schools.

Janice was a devout member of Lee's Landing United Methodist Church and very strong in her faith. She demonstrated those values and beliefs in all aspects of her life and reminded others to have faith and “lean on Him daily.”

She will be deeply missed by all family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on July 21, 2018 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Lee's Landing United Methodist Church, 38346 Lee's Landing Road, Ponchatoula, La. 70454.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Lee's Landing United Methodist Church Building Fund.
