Jason George Lawrence passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, in Independence, Louisiana, at the age of 41.  He was born on Saturday, November 25, 1978 in Amite, Louisiana to Diane Rohner.  He was a resident of Independence, Louisiana.

Jason loved fishing and football! He was always the life of the party and such a charmer! he was a die-hard LSU fan through and through and he never met a stranger. I know that he is glad that he doesn't have to feed my "zoo" anymore, but I know he will miss them as much as we will miss him, as he would often say, "stop bringing them home, I get attached." It is a huge loss to not have him here with us anymore, but he was glad he got to spend his last few days at home where he wanted to be with friends and family.

We hope that heaven has "to go" plates and a great barber, because we know you always wanted a to go box and are picky about your hair!

Jason is survived by his wife, Venesia Brooks Lawrence; son, Landon Lawrence; mother, Diane Rohner; and brothers, Timothy "Timmy" Lawrence and wife Meghan, and Melvin Battles, Jr; many nieces and nephews; and pets, Kahula, Jewels, and Smeagol.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Yvonne Minerva Cox Rohner; his grandfather, Elmer George "Rip" Rhoner; his fathers, Melvin Battles, Sr. and Wayne Hosli; and his pets, Coco, Dagger, Sara, and Lexi.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, beginning at 11:00 AM until the memorial service begins at 1:00 PM.

Interment will follow in Loranger Cemetery, Loranger, Louisiana.

Go catch some bass and reminisce about the good old days! Remember, he is not lost, but found! We will one day be joined again!
