Joan B. McKinney passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017, in Pumpkin Center, Louisiana at the age of 71 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Thursday, January 10, 1946 in Springfield, Louisiana to the late Elizabeth Bazile Bailey and the late Lucien Bailey. She was a resident of Pumpkin Center, Louisiana. She was a member of the Amvets Post 68 Ladies Auxiliary.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Anita (Chris) Landry and Lisa (Mike) Morgan; brothers, Adrian Bailey and Roger Dale St. Cyr; sisters, Brenda Bailey, Marian Myers and Cheryl McKinney; granddaughters, Christina Ferree, Jessica Landry, Kaitlyn Landry, Kayla Morgan, and Klair Morgan; grandson, Christopher Landry; great-grandson, Aiden Landry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald McKinney; parents, Elizabeth Bazile Bailey and Lucien Bailey; brothers, Lucien "Bud" Bailey and Tommy Bailey; and sister, Brenda Chism.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Highway 22, Springfield, Louisiana 70462, on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Sunday, October 1, 2017, 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The visitation will continue in the chapel on Monday morning beginning at 8:00 am until 9:30 am followed by the funeral procession and Mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Springfield.
Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery, Springfield, Louisiana.
