John Edwin Veca, Sr., died on Monday, January 30, 2017, at the age of 77.
He was born on Thursday, December 21, 1939. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Ponchatoula for 17 years. Son of the late John Simon Veca and the late Ellen Ryan Veca.
Husband of Mary Ann Radovich Veca, father of John Edwin Veca, Jr. and Laura Veca Anderson, father-in-law of William Miller Anderson and Minelle Pama Veca, grandfather of Abby Marie Anderson and William John Anderson, brother of Glenda Veca Kromer.
John was a 1957 graduate of Jesuit High School; a 1964 graduate of LSU with a BA in Journalism and a minor in English; and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a retiree of NOPSI/Entergy Corp.
Family and friends will be received at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula, on Friday, February 3, 2017, from 10:00 am until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am in the church.
