John Gerard Dorsa, Sr., age 63 of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at home. He was born on Monday, July 16, 1956, in Independence, Louisiana to Dominick and Corrine Giamalva Dorsa. John enjoyed life and loved hot rods, drag racing, going to the stock yards, raising cows and gardening, but he especially loved spending time with his family.
John is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Pearl Palmer Dorsa, his children, John Dorsa, Jr. and his wife Sha, Darcie Barrilleaux and her husband Kelly and Dominick Dorsa, his step children, Christopher Lundberg, MichaelLundberg and Jonathan Lundberg and his wife Jasmine, his grandchildren, Zachary Dorsa, Hailey Dorsa, Samuel Dorsa, Liam Lundberg, Finn Lundberg, Cohen Lundberg, Abigail Lundberg and Penny Trahan, his sisters, Mary Ann Calderone and Josephine "Phyne" Gambino, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Corrine Giamalva Dorsa and his brother in laws, Warren Gambino and Dominick Calderone.
A Visitation for John will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating John's Life will immediately follow visitation at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
