John Joseph Marasales passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 78. He was born on Tuesday, December 30, 1941 in Pensacola, Florida to the late Edith and John Marasales. He grew up in Ponchatoula, graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1960, attended LSU, and served as Military Police in the Army Reserves. He then went on to retire from draftsman engineering careers at Dupont and CBI.
John is survived by his daughter, Paige Marasales; great-aunt, Joyce Perrin; long-time girlfriend, Susan Douglas; step-children, Dale Douglas, Jeffrey Douglas,Shelley Matherne (Brad), step-grandchildren Brittany and Brylee; cousin, Patsy McClellan.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his uncle, Orien Perrin; and his cousins, JoAnn Hardy and Judy Haight.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for John on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, beginning at 11:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 1:00 PM.
Interment will be private.
