Joseph W. McLin Jr., of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at St. Tammany Parish Hospital on Friday, September 18, 2020, at the age of 71. He was born on May 18, 1949, in Independence, Louisiana, the son of the late Joseph W. McLin Sr. and the late Catherine "Katie" Camarata Finch. Joe was a dedicated offshore worker for over 40 years. He loved to fish and was a devoted LSU fan. Joe was a wonderful and loving husband and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Joe is survived by his wife of 28 years, Margurite "Margie" Venable McLin, stepson, Brian M. Ballard and wife Wilma, step grandchildren, Shane and Brianna Ballard, brother, James M. McLin, I and wife Maria, nephew, James M. McLin, II and wife Catherine, and great nephew James M. "Trey" McLin, III.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 609 3rd St., Independence, Louisiana 70443 on Friday at 10:00 am, with Rev. Reuben Dykes officiating.
Entombment will follow at Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum in Independence, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Venable, Jacob Wilson and Simon Claxton.
