Joshua Luke Blackwell, 36 years old, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016. He was a native of St. Rose, LA and a resident of Independence, LA. He was born July 5, 1980 in Metairie, LA. He was the son of Deanna Copeland, Patrick Blackwell and stepson of Trudi Blackwell. Joshua was a member of the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church and the Knight’s of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Julie Kieff Blackwell, sons, Elijah and Isaiah, and daughter, Marleigh; Parents; Step-grandfather, Herman Dauzat; God Parents, Dan and Gwen Blackwell; Stepbrothers, Brock, Brandon, and Blake Lawrence; Aunts and Uncles; Several Nieces and Nephews, as well as a host of other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved brother, Jason Blackwell and grandparents. A mass, in his honor, will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Mater Dolorosa Knights of Columbus Council 5627.
