Joseph John "Joe" Vutera, 83 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born on Tuesday, August 28, 1934, in Hammond.
Joe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather in addition to all family and friends. He was a local entrepreneur and business owner, with many interests. He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, The Lions Club, an Army Veteran and a member of The Krewe of Omega.
Surviving are wife of 60 years, Virginia Legoria Vutera, daughter, Sabrina Vutera, grandchildren, Sophia and Joseph John Vutera II, brother & sister-in-law, Anthony "Buddy" and Marie Vutera, sister, Betsy Acuri.
He is preceded in death by parents, Martin Vutera and Lena Pellichino Vutera, siblings, Louis Vutera, Camilla Millioto, Josie Faldetta, Salvador Vutera, Sr., Giuseppe Vutera.
Friends will be received Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond .
Visitation will continue on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery Hammond, Louisiana.
