Joyce Ann Ohlmeyer Stubban passed away peacefully at Landmark Nursing Home on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 after being in hospice care for several weeks.

Joyce was born in Franklin, Louisiana, on December 11, 1923, and lived the majority of her life in Metairie. Joyce was an avid tennis player, coach, and teacher; and she continued playing and teaching into her seventies.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Debra Stubban Armstrong (Kevin) of Hammond; daughter-in-law Sandy Stubban of San Clemente, CA; grandchildren, Summer Armstrong Gizzi (David), Kevin Armstrong, Jr. (Bevin), Savannah and Marley Stubban; five great-grandchildren, Haydyn and Lillie Armstrong, Giovanna, Dante, and Dominic Gizzi; two step great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kailyn Javins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Stubban; son, Jeffrey Stubban; parents, Charles and Elma Legnon Ohlmeyer; brothers, Donald, Harold, Raleigh, and Charles Jr. Ohlmeyer; sisters, Trilby Ohlmeyer Mullins, Ruth Ohlmeyer Baker, and Marjorie Ohlmeyer.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Landmark Nursing Home, where Joyce enjoyed living for the past ten years and considered it to be her second home. The family also thanks the staff of Life Source Hospice of Baton Rouge, who helped care for Joyce during the past two months.

As per Joyce’s request, there will be no services or visitation. If you would like to honor her memory, help someone in need.
