Leona Doras Kennedy Ball passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 94. She was born on Monday, December 3, 1923 in Springfield, Louisiana to the late Lois Elizabeth Richardson Kennedy and the late Harry Monroe Kennedy. She was a graduate from Spencer Business College in Baton Rouge and Southeastern Beauty College. Leona was a member of Pineview Homemakers Club, a Brownie Scout Leader, a Charter Member of the Over 50's Club, and a Sunday School Teacher. Leona is survived by her daughters, Lois Elaine Anglin, Gwyn Ellen Babin and husband John E., Linda Arnell Ryan and husband Larry S, and Joyce Lavonne Samuels and husband Rick; grandchildren, Michael Hayes, Michelle Hayes, Melanie Babin Hayes, Chuck Babin, Jeffrey Ryan, Ashley Ryan, Erika Brown, and Ehryn Abbott; 17 great grandchildren; sister in law, Alene Kennedy; nephews, Keith and Kevin Kennedy; and niece, Theresa Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fulton Ball Jr.; father, Harry Monroe Kennedy; mother, Lois Elizabeth Richardson Kennedy; and brother, Arnold R. Kennedy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, April 27, 2018, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home 100 W. Magnolia St. Ponchatoula, LA. Visitation will resume on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at First United Methodist Church of Ponchatoula, 201 E. Pine St., Ponchatoula, LA from 8:30 am until the funeral service begins at 10:30. Pallbearers will be Michael Hayes, Jeff Ryan, Chuck Babin, Cory Hayes, Hayden Ridgedell, and Jackson Ryan. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery, Springfield, Louisiana.
