Lexie Stokes Easley, age 90 of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Landmark of Baton Rouge Nursing Home. She was born on Thursday, November 1, 1928, in Chesbrough, Louisiana, to Otto, Sr. and Cora Lee Lebo Stokes. Lexie was not only a housewife, but she worked for many years at Independence Cannery and Peds, Inc. She enjoyed life and loved dairy farming, canning, raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with her family.  

Lexie is survived by her daughter,Sue Easley D'Aubin and her husband Steve, her son, Weldon Russell Easley, her grandchildren, Alan D'Aubin and his wife Heather, Renee White and her husband Robert, Robin Wheat, Ricky Wheat, Russell Easley and Veronica Scardina, 6 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and her brother, Carley Stokes and his wife Ann, also many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

Lexie was preceded in death by her parents, Otto, Sr. and Cora Lee Lebo Stokes, her husband, Vernell Easley, her daughter, Rita Nell Wheat, her brothers, Otto Stokes, Jr. and Aubrey Stokes,her sisters, Dorothy Stokes Googe, Anna Mae Stokes Cox, Margaret Ann Stokes Magliolo and Laverne Wall. 

A Visitation for Lexie will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating Lexie's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel.Interment will follow at Loranger Community Cemetery in Loranger.
