Lillie Bright Cobb passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at North Oaks Hospital surrounded by her family in Hammond, LA at the age of 78.  She was born on January 6, 1939 in Winnfield, Louisiana to the late Charles Bright Sr. and Lillie Belle Harrison Bright.  

Lillie is survived by her husband Dr. Tom Cobb and three daughters and two sons-in-law; Marcia Cobb of Hammond, Daphne Galloway and husband Richard of Slidell, and Lydia Price and husband Henry of Kenner; one grandson, Christopher Galloway of Slidell.  She is also survived by three sisters, Bonnie Strickland of Houma, Mary Sue Jones of Texas and Carolyn Whatley and husband Gordon of Deville, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lillie Belle Bright, six brothers and four sisters.

She was a wonderful wife and mother.  She loved her children and sons-in-law, and grandson, and her large extended family.  She was fond of singing in the church choir, which she began as a teenager.  She loved music and traditional church hymns.  Lillie attended Louisiana College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  She loved supporting her husband in the Baptist Ministry.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral wake visitation on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, LA.  A private funeral service will be held by the family and interment will follow in Holly Gardens Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church, 401 W. Morris Avenue, Hammond, LA in memory of Lillie.
