A resident of Hammond, LA, Madeline Signorelli passed away peacefully in her home on January 15, 2021 at the age of 92.  Born September 17, 1928 in Thibodaux, LA, to parents Rene and Augustine Naquin, Madeline was one of seventeen children.

 

A devoted wife for 60 years to Sam Signorelli, mother, grandmother and sister, Madeline enjoyed cooking delicious Cajun and Italian dishes for family and friends.  She also loved gardening for beauty as well as for food.  She was a member of the Hammond Garden Club for years and served their members in various capacities.  The home that she and her husband, Sam shared was a floral showcase every spring.

 

Madeline also served as secretary of Holy Ghost Catholic Church for many years.  When she was not working in the community or at home, Madeline would normally be found boating on weekends with Sam and various family members and friends.

 

She is survived by her children Mike Rogers (Cheryl), Ronnie Rogers (Tina), Rickie Rogers (Pam) and Leisa DeBlieux (Deek); and by siblings Frank, Van, Rene Jr., Andrew, Bernice, Elise, Joyce, Sarah and Shirley.  She had 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death within days by her husband, Sam Signorelli. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings Johnny, Morris, Daniel Sr.,Hilda, Thelma, Theresa and Marjorie.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Maurice Rogers.

 

A memorial service will be held in her honor as well as with Sam’s at McKneely Funeral Home in Hammond. Visitation will be held on Saturday,January 30 at 9:30 am with a memorial service at 11:00 am and graveside services after at Rose Memorial Cemetery in Hammond, LA.  The family would like to thank Superior Home Health andModern Hospice for their care and attention to detail, as well as the exemplary sitters provided by Magnolia Senior Care.
