Margaret DeMars, 70 years old of Springfield, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at home with her family by her side. She was born on Thursday, February 22, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Clarence and Irene Fontenot Poche. Margaret enjoyed life and loved gardening and the river, but she especially loved caring for her grandkids and spending time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Allen DeMars, Sr., her son, Allen DeMars and his wife Karla, her daughter, Bonnie DeMars, her grandchildren, Craig Kennedy and Blair Noonan, Corey Spier, Beau DeMars and Shelbie Travis, Jade Spier and Cheyanne DeMars, her great grandchildren, Brock DeMars, Jayden Spier, Monroe Kennedy, Austyn DeMars and Jaylee Spier, her sisters, Barbara Dixon and Pam Poche, her brother, Joe Poche and his wife Becky, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Irene Fontenot Poche and her brother, Billy Poche.
A Visitation for Margaret will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Woodland Baptist Church in Springfield. A Funeral Service Celebrating Margaret's Life will immediately follow visitation at 5:00pm in the church. Interment will follow at the DeMars Family Cemetery in Springfield.
