Marie LeBlanc Costanza, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in Hammond, at the age of 101.  She was born on Friday, May 14, 1915, in Belle Rose, Louisiana to the late Marie Bernadette LeBlanc and the late Joseph Felix LeBlanc.  She was a resident of Independence.

Mrs. Costanza never met a stranger and would talk to anyone. She was known as "Tutu" and everyone would call her momma or grandmother.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Aurelie Costanza, Connie Triolo, and Mathilda Monem; son, Ronald Costanza; 23 grandchildren; 26 plus great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Mitchell Costanza, Sr.; father, Joseph Felix LeBlanc, mother, Marie Bernadette LeBlanc, daughter, Anna Barbara Williams, son, Sam M. Costanza, Jr., sisters, Tallie Verbois and Bertha Albarado, brothers, Nolan J. LeBlanc, Sr., Paul J. LeBlanc, and Jade J. LeBlanc, and step-brother, James "Shorty" Brown.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Mater Dolorosa Catholic in Independence, on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 11:00 am.  Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, from 9:00 am until service time.

Interment will follow in Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum in Independence.
