Mark Vincent Powell passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in Mount Hermon, Louisiana, at the age of 59. He was born on Wednesday, July 24, 1957, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Dorothy Marie Fortenberry Powell and Carl C. Powell.
Mark is survived by his sister, Carla Powell Wainwright; brother, Warren Powell; brother-in-law, Tuffy Wainwright; and the love of his life, Maureen Sheppard Powell. Also survived by numerous loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Fortenberry Powell and Carl C. Powell; and his sister, Jamie Lynn Powell.
Mark was a free spirit with a loving, giving soul. He will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Pastor Barry Chance presiding. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm and continue until service time.
