Mary Sue Wyatt Drude, born Thursday, May 24, 1934, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Mary Sue leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Capt. Leonard J. Drude, USN (RET) of nearly 60 years along with her adoring children Lisa, Barry, Brad, and Bryan. She also leaves grandchildren, Cameron Drude and Rebecca Farrish (Justin) and her sister-in-law, Doris Drude Lavigne who were very dear to her heart. Preceded in death by her beloved mother and father, Nettie Viola Bowden Wyatt and Allison Olin Wyatt of Homer, Louisiana. Her family was her most cherished possession.
Mary Sue was an adoring wife, the consummate loving mother, and a dear friend to so many. She devoted most of her life to helping others in the many charities she supported. Her kindness and love touched many people over the course of her lifetime. She set the example to her family and friends of grace, dignity, and compassion. Her love, laughter, and affection will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Visitation, 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m, will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, LA 70454 on Saturday, June 17, 2017, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Cayet Mangiaracina, O.P. to follow. Inurnment will follow in Rosaryville Mausoleum, Ponchatoula, LA.
