Melissa Ann Graziano

 

On Saturday, March 11, 2017, Melissa “Missy” Graziano, age 49, passed away peacefully at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond.  As Missy passed on to Eternal Life, she was surrounded by loved ones and her beloved and only son, Michael Graziano.

 

Missy came in to the world on September 7, 1967 and was the first born child to Phil and Linda Graziano. Born and raised in Hammond, she attended Holy Ghost Catholic School, St. Scholastic Academy and Southeastern Louisiana University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Missy’s passion was teaching. Over the past 20 years in the classroom, she touched the lives of many students through her love of teaching and the English language.

 

Missy loved her son and was happy to be a new mother-in-law to Olivia. She was a loving, dedicated mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Missy loved to cook and made an awarding winning roast with rice and gravy.

 

Missy was an advocate for animals and loved all dogs, big and small.

 

She is survived by her son, Michael Philip Graziano and wife, Olivia. Her parents, Phil and Linda Graziano, siblings, Michelle “Shelly” Conlin and husband, Mike Conlin, Philip Graziano, Jr. and wife, Valarie, and maternal grandmother, Mildred Hastings, nephew, Daniel C. Conlin, and nieces Murphy Conlin, Peyton Conlin, Kate Graziano, Sarah Graziano, and Ashley Graziano. She leaves behind her pets, Harley and Diesel, both rescue dogs.

 

Missy is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, William Henry Hastings, Jr., Paternal grandparents, Murphy and Veda Graziano.

 

Visitation will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 9:00am to 11:00am with a funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, LA.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tangi Humane Society or Tangipahoa Animal Shelter in Missy’s name.
