Michael James Thomas, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital at the age of 66. He was born on December 21, 1951, in Augsburg, Germany, the son of Robert Thomas and the late Helen Thomas. Michael proudly served his country for 21 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in 1991. He then served his fellow man as a Physician's Assistant in the E.R. at Ochsner in downtown New Orleans, as well as facilities in Hammond, Thibodaux, and surrounding areas, for over 20 years before retiring. Michael was an incredibly loving provider to his family, and enjoyed his time with them.  He was a fun loving grandpa, especially to his "grandgirls," and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Michael is survived by his wife of 22 years, Myra "Candi" Thomas; children, Michael Lee Thomas, David Isbell (Katy), and Jenna Isbell Kliebert (Lance);  father, Robert Thomas; grandchildren, Kurt James Thomas, Klaira Grace Isbell, Averi Faith Isbell, and Mia Marie Kliebert; nephew, Austin Francis (Nicole); beloved pets, Bella, Brody, and Miss Millie; as well as one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Thomas, and brothers, Peter and Gerry Thomas.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. Hammond, Louisiana 70401, Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 2:00 pm until the funeral service begins at 4:00 pm.
