Ola Mae Miles Myers, 89 years old, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Hammond. She was born on Monday, October 17, 1927, in Tickfaw, Louisiana to Edward Lee and Mildred Miles. Ola was the third of five children and graduated from Independence High School. She married the love of her life Hugh H. Myers in 1945. Ola was a volunteer for North Oaks Hospital from 1991 to 2014. Ola enjoyed life and loved genealogy, playing cards, dominos, jig saw puzzles and sewing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. 

Ola is survived by her son, Robert E. "Edward" Myers and his wife Karen, her granddaughter Brenda Watts and her husband Tommy, her great-grandaughter, Laura Timmons and her husband Michael, her great grandson, Ivy Watts and his wife Leslie, 9 great great grandchildren, her sister, Dorothy "Dot" McCrory, her brother, Edward Lee Miles, Jr. and his wife Delmy, also many nieces, nephews and close friends who will deeply miss her. 

She is preceded in death by parents, Edward Lee, and Mildred Miles, husband, Hugh H. Myers, her sisters, Audrey Smith and Sybil Sibley and two brother in laws. 

A Memorial Visitation for Ola will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Memorial Service Celebrating Ola's Life will immediately follow visitation at 4:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Her cremains will be buried in the Emmaus Cemetery in Tickfaw at a later date.
