Patricia Leech Benton, 87 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Canon Hospice in Jefferson, Louisiana. She was born on August 3, 1930 in Quantico, Virginia to the late Lloyd and Margaret Leech. Pat will be remembered as a mother, a model, a true friend, a volunteer, and a lover of the arts. She grew up in the military and then went on to college before marrying and raising five children. She held down several different jobs, but her favorite was that as a mother.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Chris and Johnny; and grandson, Zachary. Pat is survived by her children, Terrie (Alan) Benton-Levith, Clay (Micki) Benton and Tony (Amy) Benton; grandchildren, Caro, Margaux, Elizabeth, Natalie, Jon, Michael, Conner, and Chloe; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Braden; numerous nieces and nephews; and an inordinate amount of friends.
Family and friends are welcome to attend services at St. Albert's Catholic Student Center 409 West Dakota St. Hammond LA 70401 on Thursday, January 4, 2017. The Visitation and Rosary will begin at 2:00 pm and a Requiem Mass will be begin at 3:00 pm.
She will be cremated and have her ashes distributed in a special place.
