Robert D. (Bobby) Cox, Sr. of Ponchatoula, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend passed away at North Oaks Hospital on Monday, February 26, 2018 in Hammond, Louisiana at the age of 64. He was born on October 6, 1953 in Hammond, Louisiana.
Robert was a disabled veteran who proudly served in the United States Air Force as a drill instructor. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He served on the Ponchatoula Little Football Conference Football for 23 years as Assistant Commissioner and Board Member. He was a member of Natalbany Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jessie Rolling Cox; son, Robert "D. "Bobby" Cox and his wife Brandy; son, Joey Cox; son, Chris Cox and his wife Sadie; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Darrell Cox and his wife Cindy; sister, Linda Spells and her husband Virgil; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert R. Cox; mother, Eugenia Bonnell (Harvey); and sister, Pam Pridgen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Natalbany Baptist Church, 48024 Parsonage Rd., Natalbany, LA 70451 from 9:00 am until the Memorial Service at 11:00 am.
