Robert Fontenot, 63 years old of Springfield, Louisiana, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 2, 2016, at his home. He was born on Saturday, October 10, 1953, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Steve and Pauline Fontenot. Robert enjoyed life and loved working in the yard, watching TV, sitting in his shed and at the kitchen table, but he especially loved his children Lexi and Michel.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Aline Threeton Fontenot, his daughters, Melissa Ann Fontenot and Alexis Jade Walker, his sons, Michel Brandon Guidroz, Jr., Troy A. Granger and his wife Melissa, Joseph Granger and his wife Carol and Ronnie Granger and his wife Diane, his grandchildren, Beth and Traci Granger and husband Thomas Tenhaaf, Megan McCarroll and her husband Kevin, Destin'ee Granger, Shane Pierre, Judy Keaghey and her husband Brock, Melvin Jones, Nikki and Marie Burris and Lanny Sterling, numerous great grandchildren, his brother, Raymond Fontenot and his wife Verla Mae and sister, Shirley, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Pauline Fontenot, his son, Ricky Granger, his brothers, Nelson, Gilbert, Walter, Steve, Jr., Elliott and Albert Fontenot.
A Visitation for Robert will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue on Tuesday, December 6, from 9:00am until 11:00am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. A Funeral Service Celebrating Robert's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Springfield Cemetery in Springfield.
