Roger Carroll Kitchens passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at the age of 58. He was born on Thursday, December 20, 1962, in Laurel, Mississippi, to the late Dorothy Knight and the late Willie Kitchens. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Roger spent 21 years serving his country as an officer in the Army National Guard. He also worked for more than 25 years at Entergy, where he touched many lives, and made many friends. Roger was a leader in his Celebrate Recovery group at his church, where he did his best to help others overcome obstacles in their lives and helped them to center their lives on God. He helped a lot of people learn how to help themselves. Roger will be missed by much more than just his family.

Roger is survived by his wife, Bridgette Kitchens; his children, Taylor Kitchens, Taylor Haydel (Austin), Madi Watson, Nathan Watson, and Halie Watson; his grandchildren, Colston Haydel and Shepard Haydel; his brothers, Ronnie Kitchens (Teresa), Larry Kitchens (Sara), and Timmy Kitchens; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Willie Kitchens; his brother, Tommy Kitchens; and his sister, Shirley Kitchens.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Roger on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at First Baptist Church Covington, 16333 LA-1085, Covington, Louisiana 70433, beginning at 9:00 AM until the memorial service begins at 10:00 AM. A barbecue will be held following the memorial service. Anyone who wants to join is invited.
