Roland James Dupre passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the age of 82.  He was born on September, 6, 1934, in Grand Prairie, La. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served from 1957-1959. He enjoyed cooking, and spending time with family and friends.  

Roland is survived by two daughters, Charee Dupre Parker and Lydia Higgerson; son, Michael Davis; brother, Harold Dupre; seven grandchildren, Raquel Parker, Kyle Parker, Sarah Parker, Michael Davis, Terra Riley, Aaron Davis, and Chantell Davis; six great-grandchildren and one great-great granchild; two brothers-in-law, Charles Watts and Dannie Sharp; sister-in-law, Ethel Wust; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Watts Dupre; his parents, George and Batilde Dupre, and step-mother, Lorena Dupre; brother, J.D. Farris; sisters, Helen Dupre Smith and Adelene Farris Parker; sister-in-law, Esther Mae Berthelot; and brother-in-law, Wallace Watts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on July 31, 2017 from 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow in Ponchatoula Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
