Ronald Joseph Steib, age 70 of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at North Oaks Medical Center. He was born on Sunday, August 7, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, the son of the late Godfrey B. Steib Jr. and Joy Tucker Steib.
He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture.
Ronald had a long military career, spanning over 30 years, serving in both the US Navy and US Air Force. He served in the Gulf War and later retired with the rank of Master Sergeant.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patti S. Steib, daughter & son-in-law, Lisa and Mike Burton, granddaughter, Natalie Burton, grandson, Andrew Burton, brothers, Craig Steib and his wife Renee`, Brian Steib and his wife Cindy, Marc Steib and his husband Billy Simmons; sisters, Debra Schanzbach and her husband Michael, Nancy Ryan and her husband Alvin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Steib Castell, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Milton "Dutch" and Willie Lee Schanzbach.
Family and friends will be received at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, on Thursday at 11:00 am, with Fr. Paul McDuffie officiating.
Interment will follow at the Ponchatoula Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
